This article covers everything you need to know about messaging on Fanvue - from what the tick icons mean, to keeping your inbox tidy.

What do the tick icons mean in chat?

Every message you send shows a small tick indicator to let you know its status:

  • One grey tick: Your message has not been delivered yet.

  • Two grey ticks: Your message has been delivered.

  • Blue ticks: Your message has been read.

Good to know

The tick colour only shows delivery and read status - nothing else. Grey or blue ticks do not mean you've been blocked, muted, or restricted.


How do I mute a conversation?

If you'd like to stop receiving notifications from a specific chat without blocking the creator, you can mute the conversation. Muting silences notifications for that thread - the messages are still there, and you can still read them, but you won't be alerted when new ones arrive.

How to mute a chat

  1. Open the conversation you want to mute

  2. Tap the three-dot menu at the top of the chat next to the creator's profile pic

  3. Select Mute

  4. To unmute, follow the same steps and select Unmute.

My inbox is full - how do I clear it up?

Creators can send messages to followers and subscribers, so your inbox can fill up quickly. If you want to keep things tidy without blocking anyone, you can archive conversations. Archiving moves a conversation out of your active inbox so you no longer see it in your main message list. The chat isn't deleted - you can always go back to it in your archived folder.

How to archive a chat

  1. Open the conversation you want to archive

  2. Tap the three-dot menu at the top of the chat next to the creator's profile pic

  3. Select Archive

  4. To unarchive, follow the same steps and select Unmute.

Can I delete a conversation entirely?

Fully deleting a chat conversation isn't currently supported. Archiving is the best way to keep your inbox organised.

Can I unsend a message?

Yes! If you want to take back something you've just sent, you can unsend it. When you delete a message, you'll see a "message was deleted" note in its place on your side. The creator will not see the message at all - it simply disappears from their view.

How to unsend a message

  1. Press and hold the message you want to remove (or click on the three-dot menu)

  2. Select Unsend

What if a creator unsends a message they sent me?

If a creator removes a message they sent you, the message will simply disappear from the conversation on your side. There is no notification or placeholder - it will just no longer be there.


Why can't I send a message to a creator?

Whether you can message a creator depends on their settings. Some creators only accept messages from subscribers, while others allow any follower to reach them for a gift/tip. If the message input is unavailable, the creator has likely restricted messaging to subscribers only.

To send them a message, you'd need to subscribe to their profile first. If you're already subscribed and still can't message, try these troubleshooting steps first:

  • Log out and log back in

  • Try a different browser (preferably Google Chrome), or clear your browser cache and cookies

  • Turn off VPN and do not use incognito mode
