Referrals: Everything you need to know

Referring a friend to become a creator on Fanvue

Fanvue is built on community, collaboration, and creators helping creators. Referring another creator to Fanvue can be a genuinely nice source of ongoing income, but what you earn depends on who you refer. Here's how it works, what to expect, and how to help them succeed.

How it works

  • For every creator you refer, you earn 5% of their earnings for their first 12 months on the platform.
Don’t worry, this won’t affect what the people you invite to Fanvue earn.

  • To refer someone: go to the menu in the bottom left of the screen, select Refer & Earn, and copy your unique referral link to share.

Everyone who clicks on your link and signs up to be a creator will be referred by you.

What can you realistically expect to earn?

It varies a lot, and depends almost entirely on who you refer. Most referrers earn relatively little, because a lot of referred creators never really build much traction. But when a referred creator does take off, the referrer's earnings grow right alongside them, so a single motivated referral can end up worth far more than several casual ones.

In short: referring lots of people isn't what pays off, referring the right person is. One friend who takes their Fanvue account seriously is worth far more than ten who sign up and never post.

Who's worth referring

  • Someone who's genuinely interested in creating content consistently, not just curious about signing up.

  • Someone with an existing audience elsewhere (social media, a community) they can bring across, since that head start tends to matter most in the first 12 months, which is also the window your commission is based on.

  • One thing it can't be: yourself. You can't refer your own second account to earn commission on your own earnings.

Help your referral get started

  • Cross-promote each other on social media. A share-for-share with your referral helps you both tap into each other's audiences.

  • Consider creating a piece of content together on Fanvue and teasing it across both your socials, it gives fans a reason to check out the new account.

  • Point them to Fanvue's Help Centre and to your own experience. The more confident and consistent they are early on, the sooner (and larger) your referral earnings become.
